Mary Begier, Principal Broker, Owner, Realtor®

With 28 years’ experience, Mary Begier knows the ins, outs, ups and downs of the Hawaii real estate market. She remains as current with matters of community importance as she does local and national real estate trends.

With offices both on Oahu and Hawaii Island, Begier is active on a state-wide level. She is a past president of both the Hawaii Island Board of Realtors® (HIBR) and Honolulu Board of Realtors®, began selling real estate in Hawaii in 1980. She represents HIBR on the Big Island Business Council, where she served as president from 2002-2003.

She is the 2008-09 President of the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay and president-elect of the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce. She is the Chamber’s Government Affairs chair.

Begier is an outspoken proponent for business. Because she believes “in helping to create the kind of communities we want,” Begier serves on legislative and public policy committees. She is part of the team building a strong image for Realtors statewide.

She was named Realtor of the Year by three Hawaii Realtors’ boards (Hawai‘i State Association of Realtors and HIBR in 2001 and the Honolulu board in 2002).

Begier served in the United States Navy, going to schools in Florida and California before being assigned to Honolulu where she became the senior enlisted female in a command of 480 male and 38 female personnel at Pearl Harbor.

She was named to the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts by Governor Linda Lingle, and has been nominated to represent Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce on the Big Island Housing Foundation board.
